I get a lot of people asking how do you stay so motivated?
Truth is i don't 100% of the time, i am not perfect i too have days where i feel un motivated for what ever reason, im only human right? maybe i don't feel like im where i should be or that im not hitting my goals and progressing, whatever the reason i just still go and do my workout as i always feel so much better afterwards than i would of done if i would of just missed it, unless i am really tired and i have not had time to sleep for whatever reason, in this case rest is best.
All that been said here is a list of things that i do find help with my motivation and how i feel about a workout-
1. Rest- Getting enough sleep is crucial, waking up refreshed, full of energy and ready to tackle your day will definitely help motivate you to go and smash your workout.
2. Training in a morning- for me training in a morning before work and everything else, if i leave it till later on in the day i do not have the motivation i would doing it first thing, but that been said every one is different so just train at the time you feel fits your lifestyle better.
3. Planning- Go into the gym with a plan and stick to it, personally i have a much better workout going in knowing what i am doing and smashing it, rather than making it up as i go along.
4. Progress tracking- Do you track your progress? tracking and seeing the progress you make is so motivating, doing something you couldn't do a few weeks or a few moths ago, getting that new PB hitting a new fitness level. I find tracking my weights helps me see what i did last session so i don't waste time guessing what weight i used or under pitching what i can do. I know exactly what i did last session so i know i can do that or progress on it this.
5. Training methods- As an advanced weight lifter i like to mix it up and make use of different training methods, this keeps my workouts fresh and exciting. I will write another post on types of training methods, so keep your eyes out for this if this is something you are interested in knowing more about.
